Auxilliary protection
Not a lot to say about auxilliary protection. These relays do not perform protection as such. They are used in conjunction with other relays to
 perform functions such as -
- Lockout to prevent reclosure of breaker after a trip
- Intertrip relays to send signals elsewhere, usually to opposite end of feeder or incomer.
- General signalling relays
- Timer relays to add additional time to an instantaneous relay
- Trip circuit supervision relays that prevent closure of the breaker if the tripping supply has failed
New website feature! Calculate your relay trip times
Why not use our new calculator feature to calculate the trip times of your overcurrent or thermal relays. Tripping curves based on the IEC formulas for all types of inverse curves.
